Exploring The Hawaian Islands Is A Lot Like Traveling Around The World
September 16, 2018 by admin
I’m sleeping through seven days of jet-lag in Waikiki! Some formula says that for every Time Meridian one crosses; one must wooze through a full day of fatigue and disorientation. Last Monday, I flew from Hanoi, Vietnam to Honolulu, Hawaii; changing planes in Seoul, Korea. Ever since…I have been floppy!
But, it’s a great place to lounge around in! Even the nasty weather passed us by. I keep telling myself to get out and explore; take a tour! Plan my life! But I take a walk and then get serious about a nap. This, too, shall pass!
Sure, I’ve just circled the world for the third time and that required a lot of flying…but not in such long gulps. Technically, I’m still on my three-year RTW since I haven’t returned to Golden, Colorado, where it began. But, I AM on American soil and that’s a completion of sorts.
Hawaii feels a bit like Clearwater, Florida, where I have spent so many years of my life. Might these islands be a good place to settle down? They have mountains and jungles and beaches within easy reach. So, I am seriously considering it and the only way to find out is to examine the seven individual pieces of this island-state and see which I like best. That’s pretty much the same way I’ve just examined the planet.
I don’t need a visa to live here. Everyone speaks English! My family members might want to visit me, as opposed to somewhere else on the mainland, like Podunk, USA.
So, we shall see; as soon as the jet lag clears!
