My New Parallel Universe – A Senior Business Startup – Blogging & Book Publishing

STARTING A NEW BUSINESS AS A SENIOR CITIZEN – BLOGGING ABOUT SOLO WORLD TRAVEL
This is Takeoff Day and, as always, I’m a little nervous and am filled with wonder and suspense as to how the trip will turn out. Though this blog is to be, primarily, about around the world travel, I’m speaking right now about launching out into the Blogosphere and learning to fly right here in public. One good thing is that I didn’t need shots; I have no luggage; and no costly airline tickets leading to long waits in lines, crying babies and carry-on snacks. Plus, this blog flies me everywhere at once, while I sit here at home. Neat! Your living room is my parallel universe. So are your thoughts. Let’s explore each other’s lives!
I’m a work-in-progress with an upcoming book to sell, so this seemed a good time to get out here on the web and chronicle each new development. As time passes, you will witness me: 1. Learning how to blog. 2. Taking baby steps towards getting my first book manuscript published. 3. Planning my second solo around-the-world journey throughout the Southern Hemisphere. 4. Actually living that RTW trip throughout South America, the Pacific Islands, New Zealand, Australia, Africa, Israel, Spain and home (or something like that). 5. Taking big girl steps towards writing and publishing my second book about that. 6. Etc.
In addition to talking about the fantastic experience of Solo World Travel, I’d like to serve as a living example of Making Dreams Come True. All of those things listed above come out of thin air. They start with a simple intention……one about which I, originally, haven’t a clue as to how to make it a reality. This blog will be the easiest to pull off because I have a very talented webmaster to tell me what to do. Would that everything in life were so simple! But, blogging is, at the moment a pretty big mystery. The dream of writing a book is an even bigger mystery, and then, once it’s composed, how the heck do you get it into print so that it exists for even one other person? You’ll hear a lot about that saga as it moves along. But, I can tell you a bit about it now:
“Hey Boomers! Dust Off Your Backpacks: Travel The World On A Limited Budget” tells the story of my first solo around the world, year-long junket that began exactly three years ago. I was sixty-seven and had traveled extensively, but never this far and this long on the slimmest of financial threads – the debit card attached to my Social Security monthly allotments as they hit the bank. Could I make it without a safety net? What would I find staying in the hostels of Eastern Europe, Turkey, Egypt, India and Thailand? Who would I meet along the way and what would they think of someone my age venturing out as a backpacker?
Stay tuned to learn how you can order your copy right here on this blogsite, just as soon as I accomplish #2 on the list above.
